Parallel Workshop 1 : Open information extraction: Approaches & Application by Dr. Mausam and Keshav Kolluru, IIT Delhi(Limited Seats) 120 Minutes
About the Workshop:
Open Information Extraction (Open IE) attempts to extract (subject, relation, object) tuples from a sentence in an ontology-independent manner, i.e., all arguments and relations are phrases extracted from the original text. These semi-structured representations are useful for constructing knowledge bases without human supervision and improving question answering systems. Open IE has a 15 year old history in the field of NLP with a wide variety of techniques ranging from rule-based systems to machine learning systems, both non-neural, and recently neural. In this tutorial, we describe Open IE’s philosophy, salient techniques, applications, latest trends and challenges that lie ahead.

Artificial Intelligence: The transition to edge computing and beyond
AI applications and systems are proliferating rapidly, automating and making more efficient a broad range of processes and tasks across every facet of our lives. AI has traditionally been deployed in the cloud because AI solutions require high-performance computing access and remote data centers, which means they are extremely data bandwidth and power-hungry. AI at the edge which allows localized decision making, whereby applications and devices can collect and analyze data on their own, offers a solution to significantly reduce the data transfer and energy impact.

Edge AI is also gaining momentum because it offers meaningful innovation for consumer products, building management, predictive maintenance, self-driving for vehicles, and much more. There is growing interest in this type of technology because it can change how we interact with applications while better protecting personal data, reducing latency, and allowing decision autonomy at the point of use. But to realize this promise Edge AI has several challenges, in terms of constraints related to the amount of computing, memory, and power budget that these edge devices can sustain. In this Keynote, we look at the various facets of solution innovation to meet these Edge AI challenges including the new paradigm of System-Technology Co-Optimization to design the next generation of Edge AI products

Parallel Workshop 2 on BlockChain - Zero Knowledge Proofs unlock High Fidelity Assets by Kyle Thomas, Provide Technologies Inc. (Limited Seats) 120 Minutes
Abstract:
Zero knowledge proofs (ZKPs) are a key technical component to the Baseline Protocol and Baseledger. ZKPs allow one to exchange information to another without actually revealing it. Zero knowledge proofs are a key technical component to the execution of the Baseline Protocol, as well as Baseledger, the synchronization network compliant with the Baseline Protocol.

The Baseline Protocol is a process standard for using blockchain or distributed ledger technology as a common frame of reference between two or more disparate systems. Enforcing real time data-reciprocity between ERPs, databases or state machines, or amongst other distributed technologies allows participants to verify counterparty data integrity and consistency throughout any business process, without exposing any sensitive information. It is particularly promising as a way to reduce capital expense and other overheads while increasing operational integrity when automating business processes across multiple companies. This leads to a reduction in organizational risk and is an effective way to turn isolated data islands into advanced, shared networks. Baseledger is the first public network designed for storing and managing baseline proofs. Baseledger complies with the Baseline Protocol to ensure that no data is moved from companies' system of record onto any kind of blockchain, and proofs cannot be used by an observer to learn anything about companies' confidential information, relationships or business activities. The network is secure, always-on and anchored to the Ethereum blockchain using a zero-knowledge rollups to prevent tampering with the proofs.

The proofs created in synchronized, baselined processes become all new use cases for smart contracts and NFTs. It has become increasingly clear how baselined business processes will yield high-fidelity outputs such as verifiable invoices. The opportunities to improve modern treasury operations and optimize cash management using these high-fidelity, baselined instruments will incentive large organizations to participate in the enterprise DeFi ecosystem.

Agenda:
  • Overview of Zero-Knowledge Proofs
  • Baseline Protocol and Baseledger
  • Why enterprises use Baseline Protocol
  • The use of public blockchains
  • Enterprise synchronization enablement
  • What kind of ZKPs are needed?
  • Show them the code
  • Technical demo
  • ZKPs unlock high fidelity assets
Pre-requisites:
  • Basic understanding of blockchain concepts
Takeaways:
  • Become a better leader in your organization with the deep insights gained from this session.
  • Gain understanding of how to deploy ZKPs into production for enterprise blockchain use cases.
  • Explore the technology provided to build new revenues, improve treasury operations

Leaders in Conversation : Leading Tech Fueling Adoption of Financial technology Solutions
Leading Tech Fueling Adoption of Financial technology Solutions
Innovation and technology have brought about a fundamental change in traditional financial services, fueled by the pandemic. The speed towards digital, built on the foundation of emerging tech coupled with favorable government initiatives, has brought Financial Technology in the forefront of digital transformation designing new products that are taking out friction in payments and various other money movements. This transition is visible in elevated customer experience, which is intuitive, secure, easy to access and often touchless. New innovations and cutting-edge ubiquitous technologies are driving adoption of Financial Technology solutions through inclusivity and embedding financial service experience in business applications – from Artificial Intelligence for predictive analytics to Digital-only banking, from Peer-to-peer (P2P) transaction technologies to Paperless processing and moving to “Zero UI” interactions. This change in consumer behavior towards digital and demand for better experiences requires FIs to drive market differentiation while completely reimagining the traditional models. Adoption towards digital is a mind-set shift for all stakeholders – FinTech organisations FIs, Merchants, Regulators and Consumers - and requires close collaboration to maximize adoption of digital commerce.

Programming in the era of Machine Learning
There are two broad ways to construct computer systems:
(1) Programming and
 (2) Learning. Programming makes sense when there is a clear mathematical specification, and a provably correct program to realize the specification, even though we might never write these down formally. Examples of these class of systems include databases, operating systems, and tax processing systems. Learning makes sense when it is hard to write a mathematical specification, or provable implementations, even if we were to spend time and energy to write these down formally. Examples of these class of systems include image classification, sentiment understanding and language translation. In these cases, it is natural to specify intent using examples and learn a model that inductively generalizes from the examples. In this talk we consider situations where the two approaches can be combined, producing better results than using either approach in isolation. We conclude with opportunities in using programming language techniques to make ML models efficient, robust, interpretable, and verifiable

The Case for Cloud-Based DevOps
Seven years of digital transformation happened last year as it became clear to companies that they needed to accelerate their agility and their ability to rapidly innovate and scale. While resiliency has become a de facto business requirement, there is still work to do to ensure that IT services is able to deliver. Cloud-based DevOps answers the call by helping IT build a platform for service delivery that is agile by nature, takes advantage of cloud’s inherent elasticity and scalability and deploys automation to grow security while optimizing human and financial resources. Then, with a solid cloud and DevOps platform, organizations can take advantage of advanced technologies to further their agility, innovation and competitive position

Parallel Workshop 1 : Understand and build trust in your machine learning models by Google (Limited Seats) - 120 Minutes
About the Workshop:
Topic: Understand and build trust in your machine learning models

As investments in AI/ML grow, it has become important to build end-user trust in machine learning
models. AI technology suffers from what is called a “black box” problem. Stakeholders are often reluctant
to trust machine learning projects because they don’t understand what they do. It’s hard for
decision-makers to relinquish control to a seemingly mysterious machine learning model, especially when
it’s responsible for crucial decisions. This is more pronounced in the case of deep learning and artificial
neural network approaches, which contain many hidden layers that learn through pattern recognition.
To ensure the success of AI/ML programs and drive adoption, it has therefore become important to
enhance transparency with human-interpretable explanations of machine learning models, and to have
the ability to ensure that models are kept current, with predictions that are in line with ground truths.
In this workshop, we shall look at some of these concepts, associated tools and frameworks, and
understand them with the help of some demonstrations. You shall be able to follow along for some of the
demonstrations with Google Developers Codelabs, or try them later.

Agenda:
Time & Topic
09:30 am - 09:45 am The need for trust and transparency in ML models
09:45 am - 10:15 am Explanations for models on structured and image data; Understanding performance using the What-if Tool

There might be hundreds or thousands of subdomains behind our digital wonderland main domain. I asked many clients; do you know all existing subdomains? "We are not sure", they replied! In most cases, subdomains are unknown, not well maintained, might not inherit security controls, and not all are under the monitoring scope.

They are mysterious members of Scope X that provide cybercriminals with a larger attack surface consisting of security issues, sensitive information, vulnerabilities, unnoticed attack vectors, entry points, etc.

This hands-on workshop explains techniques and tools to discover subdomains, identify potential attack vectors, and determine associated risks. Assume we discover a long list of subdomains with different issues; the workshop will continue with a practical approach for data validation and classification, initial analysis, hypothesis formulation, and proactive threat hunting to address the risks.

A New Standard for High-Security State Synchronization for Multiparty Workflows: The Baseline Protocol
Industry leaders, including EY, Microsoft, Accenture and SAP have been working for several years on a new common and formal design pattern for the synchronization of data and business logic on machines that coordinate workflows across multiple companies. A more flexible, 'plastic' and antifragile approach, one which is straightforward and low-cost (with zero or minimal capital costs) has been needed. In 2021, the name of this new specification, emerging from the venerable standards body OASIS, is called the Baseline Protocol. John Wolpert, co-founder of Hyperledger and group executive at ConsenSys AG will show how companies that already know how to 'baseline' are winning seven and eight figure enterprise transformation projects with major brand names and how the end of 2021 will see the release of tools and services that will make baselining something every company will be asking for in 2022 and beyond.
