Mr. Gupta brings over four decades of leadership experience in the banking and payments sector with prior senior roles at SBI & NPCI. In his past roles with the State Bank of India, he oversaw several new-to-India banking product launches, including specialized debit and prepaid cards.

He was the Chief Project Officer/Advisor at the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) responsible for creating India’s indigenous “RuPay” card network in 2012. He was instrumental in introducing several digital payments and financial inclusion products.

In his current role as MD and CEO of Paytm Payments Bank, Mr. Gupta has been central to several firsts that Paytm Payments Bank has achieved in expanding its banking portfolio and digital offerings.
Throughout his journey, Mr. Gupta has championed digital payments as a critical pillar to the disruptive growth of the Indian economy by accomplishing the vision of financial inclusion through digital payments.
